📝 Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the Shrimp

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Sausage

  • 12 oz (340 g) smoked sausage (Andouille or kielbasa), sliced into rounds

For the Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

For the Rice

  • 3 cups cooked long-grain white rice
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese (optional, for a cheesy finish)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Season the Shrimp

Pat the shrimp dry. Toss with Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.

2. Brown the Sausage

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook for 5–6 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.

3. Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Add the shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove from the pan.

4. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

Reduce heat to medium. Add the remaining butter and garlic. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in:

  • Italian seasoning
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Lemon juice
  • Parsley

5. Combine Everything

Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet. Add the cooked rice and gently toss everything together until coated in the garlic butter sauce.

For a cheesy version like the picture, sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top, cover for 2 minutes, and let it melt.
